NHS Volunteer Responders has been set up to support the NHS during the COVID-19 outbreak. To do this we need an 'army' of volunteers who can support the 1.5m people in England who are at most risk from the virus to stay well. Our doctors, nurses and other professionals will be able to refer people in to NHS Volunteer Responders and be confident that they have been matched with a reliable, named volunteer - Please click here if you would like to support the NHS at this time

Why I Love Volunteering

I had just moved to Manchester when I began volunteering, and it helped me to become a part of the local community and to make friends. I also got access to lots of training courses, such as first aid, which has improved my confidence both personally and as a volunteer.

Questions about Volunteering?
Volunteer Opportunity

Volunteer Opportunity - Community champion

Interested in using your personal experience and knowledge to support those at risk of developing cancer, or recently diagnosed with the disease, by getting involved in the community, talking openly about cancer and raising awareness of the signs, symptoms & the importance of early detection

Why I Love Volunteering

Volunteering for Macmillan has really made a difference to my life. The best thing for me is giving other people with cancer something that I didn’t have. I get a huge amount of satisfaction from being able to do something to help people, doing something positive in a negative situation. It has also really helped me to get my confidence back after my treatment.
