Manchester Dragoneers Breast cancer dragon boat team & boat repairs

Gordon Jackson and Tony Birch worked hard to repair the Manchester Dragoneers dragon boat supporting the breast cancer Dragon Boat team. The repairs were a resounding success with the dragon boat making several trips on the water at Debdale outdoor centre. Manchester Dragoneers aims to provide support and friendship the everyone following a cancer diagnosis. The Dragoneers meet on Saturdays at 10.00am. at Debdale Outdoor Centre, Hyde Road, Manchester – Junction 24 of M60. We are a Breast Cancer dragon boat team who meet for regular exercise (not racing). Cancer Research UK - Cancer Awareness Roadshow Ashton Market

Cancer Research UK have a new Indoor Cancer Awareness Roadshow that’s arrived in Tameside for 2019. Cancer Research UK are visiting Ashton Market roughly every other Thursday until the end of the year, situated inside the market with an indoor set up. The Macmillan Support Line, staffed by trained experts, offers people with cancer and their loved ones practical, clinical, financial and emotional support. We have 5 teams here to help. Cancer information and support (8am - 8pm) This team answers each call, provides emotional and practical support, or can just listen if you need to talk. They will help find the best support for you.

Diabetes and Cancer

Going through treatment for cancer is difficult and upsetting at any time. But managing diabetes at the same time can make things more complicated. Clare found it more difficult to control her blood sugar levels when she needed surgery, and she didn’t get enough information to help her cope. Carers Event

Many thanks to the Carers Centre for arranging their Health & Well being event for carers at Hyde Town Hall today. It was a real pleasure to attend and meet so many people. Also meeting the people and groups involved in the wide range of support we have in Tameside and Glossop.
