The Macmillan Support Line, staffed by trained experts, offers people with cancer and their loved ones practical, clinical, financial and emotional support. We have 5 teams here to help. Getting advice from a local pharmacist is the best first step for a minor health concern. People can speak with the pharmacist in confidence, in a private area, about even the most personal symptoms, and are advised to telephone their usual pharmacy before travelling as opening hours may vary over the bank holidays. We know a cancer diagnosis can affect people’s diet in lots of different ways. These traditional recipes have been created with our partners Greene King to cater for a range of these needs. As a consequence of treatment, some people with cancer may experience a dry and sore mouth, or have difficulty swallowing, so we have created delicious soft options and soups. Others may not have much of an appetite, so we’ve designed small dishes high in vital nutrients. The Cancer Care review - be part of the conversation

The Cancer Care Review (CCR) is a key component of the Recovery Package. It is carried out by a GP or Practice Nurse within the first six months after a person's cancer diagnosis. It is an opportunity for the person with cancer to raise any issues relating to their cancer or treatment that are impacting on their quality of life or wellbeing, and together with their GP or Practice Nurse, make a plan to address these issues. We want to make sure that the way that Cancer Care Reviews are delivered in Tameside and Glossop work for everyone.
